What to wear

Deciding what to wear for senior pictures can seem like a daunting task. There are many things to take into consideration when deciding on outfits for your senior portraits. By following our tips and reviewing our what to wear guide, we can help you choose which clothing and accessories will be best for the day of your shoot! What’s important to remember when preparing for your senior portraits is to pick styles and clothing that represent you!

1. Clothing – Keep it Simple!

This rule is for guys and gals, simple clothing is always more appealing. Remember, YOU want to stand out in your photos, not your clothes! Choose clothing that is all one solid color, preferably neutral. Avoid busy patterns, sequins, graphic tees, and bright neon or fluorescent colors. By sticking to what you wear every day, you’re showcasing the truest representation of you!

2. Outfits – Bring options!

If you are unsure about what to wear, choose a couple of options to bring along. Our photographers will look through your outfits and help you choose the best outfits based off your features such as your eye/hair color and skin tones! They may even get some inspiration on locations based on your outfit options!

3. Day of shoot – Be prepared

It’s best to layout outfits and accessories the night before your shoot. Make sure your clothes are ironed and free of any stains or rips. Have your accessories/jewelry/shoes ready to go for each outfit to guarantee a smooth photoshoot!

4. Accessories – Keep it minimal!

Adding a fun accessory can really make a boring photo fun and interesting! It’s important to not over accessorize and to avoid distracting jewelry or busy ties. You might want to consider a family heirloom or a class ring. Maybe a fun pair of shoes to pair with a simple outfit! Whatever you choose, make sure it represents you!
