Client Spotlight: Susan and her Tremendous Trio

We met Susan a few years ago at the Great Lake Pet Expo in Milwaukee. She told us all about her lovable fur babies, including Calvin, her fabulous feline with a career as a pet model. Since meeting us, Susan told us she had always wanted to have her family pictures done by us, along with some new headshots done for Calvin's modeling career. We finally were able make it work and we think it was definitely worth the wait.

The Subjects

Calvin Eugene is a Doll-Faced Silver Chinchilla (White) Persian. He celebrated his golden birthday this past year on July 9th. He has been modeling since just was just one year old, with the help of his agent Bill Casey from Animal Talent of Chicago. Calvin has been in three commercials, most notably one during the 2019 Super Bowl for WeatherTech Pet Comfort bowls, and most recently a commercial released for Maytag, featuring their new washer & dryer that include a pet hair setting. Susan and Calvin's favorite gig was Calvin's very first commercial for Method cleaning supplies in July of 2018. They loved the actress paired with Calvin and were so honored just to be a part of the commercial. (See the commercial here!) Currently you can find Calvin all over the Maytag website for their Pet Pro systems. Coming soon, Calvin will be on a large cardboard cutout for the newest Maytag washer & dryer in Lowe's along with an adorable dog.

Mr. Jingles is an 11-year-old handsome and shy Himalayan. He loves to snuggle at night, lay on your chest and purr. He has beautiful bright blue eyes and gorgeous seal points. Mr. Jingles got his name because Susan purchased him right before Christmas and he was wearing a tiny collar with a bell.

Harley, Harley Quinn, is Susan's little hillbilly rescue from Tennessee who is estimated to be about 5-years-old. Though she's not exactly sure about her breed, she thinks that she is a Papillon-Whippet mix, making her a Pippet. Harley is a very lovable and sassy dog. Most of the time you don't even know she is around, unless she is laying on your lap. She enjoys going for walks, going to doggy daycare at Wag-In-the-Woods, and lots of snuggles.

The Sessions

Susan had two photo sessions with us, one at Sheridan Park in Cudahy just with her and Calvin, and one in our studio with the entire family.

The leaves at Sheridan Park were absolutely at their best with their beautiful mix of bright oranges, reds, and browns. "Jerry did a great job picking out the perfect locations," says Susan, "he was patient & so fun to work with, he did an amazing job capturing Calvin & myself. We had some great laughs and Calvin had a blast playing in the leaves & enjoying the weather." Sometimes to get the best shot, you have to be willing to get dirty, and Jerry did just that by rolling around in the leaves with Calvin. "Working with a cat is probably not a subject that he finds himself photographing out in nature often, yet he did so with such talent."

For the second session in our studio, we brought out our holiday background to get some festive family photos. Mary and Jerry worked together to snap the perfect shots of the whole family together and some individual shots. Susan is also a die-hard Packers fan, so we made sure to grab some family photos decked out in green and gold. We also captured a few professional headshots of Calvin for a brand new photo card he can use to get future modeling gigs.

The Results

When Susan returned for her purchasing appointment, she was ecstatic to see how her photos turned out. She purchased many digital files to use for future Halloween and Christmas cards and to share with family and friends. Susan also purchased a wall grouping of the Packer family photos to display in her living room. Our favorite wall portrait she purchased was a 24"x30" Metal Print of Calvin in the fall leaves (seen above) also to be displayed in her living room.
