Meagan and Aaron's Potawatomi Wedding

Meagan and Aaron’s Potawatomi Wedding

It is often said that rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that the marriage will last. A knot that becomes wet is very hard to untie-therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage becomes just as hard to unravel. Meagan and Aaron’s love for one another already promised a lifetime of success, they may not have needed the rain to remind them, but it certainly made for a wonderfully tranquil day.

The Potawatomi Hotel and Casino was not only the perfect setting Aaron’s wedding day, it was also very accommodating and welcoming. A large conference room was provided for Meagan, Kristin, and Mary. While the girls got ready, flower girl Lexi danced and posed for the camera. When Meagan put on her dress she looked absolutely stunning. The windows in the hall provided perfect lighting as Meagan looked out the window and reflected a bit before the big moment. Ring Bearer Jacob came to visit the bride looking cool and confident as “ring security” with his sunglasses and briefcase. He had a very important job and was dressed to prove it! Meanwhile, up on the 14th floor, Aaron is surprised with a loving card and an awesome Albrecht Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey from his bride to be.

The harmony room at Potawatomi was romantically lit. Overcast lighting from the windows added to the ambiance of the room. When Meagan walked down the aisle she walked with confidence, hand in hand with her mom. Attached to her bouquet was a small photo of her dad, and it felt as if he was there watching over her. The ceremony was officiated by Judge Derek Mosley. He passed the rings around so everyone in the room had a chance to bless them while he explained the meaning of the ring finger. The bride and groom wrote their own vows to each other and as they each spoke in turn you could hear sniffles and see eyes being wiped as they shared their love for one another. The guests clapped as Meagan and Aaron were pronounced man and wife. They shared a kiss and walked down the aisle as a married couple for the first time.

Although the rain permitted us from doing a lot of outside images, we made the most out of all the cool locations within the casino and had a lot of fun! The wedding party posed at the black jack table, and the bride and groom kissed while the elevator doors shut, it felt very cinematic! For one of the shots, Mary actually laid on the ground in order to capture the scope of the scene. Before dinner there was a short break in the weather and the clouds looked spectacular, so we took the fun outside to capture some photos overlooking the city skyline.

The reception was held in the Serenity room and was beautifully decorated. Dream Catchers were hung on the doors serving as a reminder of Aaron’s heritage and their cake topper read “I love you to the moon and back” which truly said it all. Instead of a guest book, an Albrecht Jersey made an appearance and was available for everyone to sign. Aaron and Meagan plan on framing the jersey as a remembrance of their day. In addition to the tables being elegantly set, the couples love of sports was encompassed. Guest tables were labeled by baseball teams instead of numbers. The night was filled with dancing, laughter and a special surprise from Mary. The Brewers Racing Sausages made a guest appearance and everyone raced to get their pictures taken with them. Overall the night was out of the ballpark!

Amidst the rain, Meagan and Aaron’s day was magical and serene. It was filled with love, laughter and blessings for a long happy life together. If a rainy wedding day brings good luck and fortune than we truly believe it, for Mary and Jerry were wed on a rain filled day and have been together for 34 years and have 5 children together. It was a pleasure for Mary, Jerry to photograph the happy couple on their special day and wish them the absolute best.

From preseason through the play-offs; in good health and injury, despite strike outs and rain delays; whether their teams win or lose, we know that in the game of marriage Aaron and Meagan are winners.
