Much like our hearts, the air was filled with sweetness on the day of Glenn and Sharon’s Whitnall Park’s Boerner Botanical Garden wedding. Luscious bulbs of pink and red scattered throughout fields of green, providing the backdrop for a beautiful day.
The botanical garden house is where the magical day began. Sharon, Joan and Jennifer were making their final preparations. Sharon’s hair had carefully placed roses in the back of her head. When she put on her dress she looked like the fairy princess she wanted to be. Before putting on their own dresses, Joan and Jennifer made sure Sharon looked and felt perfect. Once the girls were ready it was time to leave the garden house and make their way to the rose garden where cool, calm and collected Glenn was waiting to see his bride.
The weather was cool and comfortable, with the clouds covering the sky in an evenly diffused light perfect for picture taking and wedding viewing. The guests were seated in white chairs placed throughout the rose garden. All eyes were on Sharon as she walked down the aisle to meet her prince. It was a scene straight out of a storybook, as the two of them met under the garden pillars. The ceremony was led by Judge Derek who brought with him some interesting analogies. Ropes were tied around the hands of Glenn and Sharon as he described how the saying “tie the knot” originated. Derek then passed around the wedding rings so that everyone could say a blessing over them while he shared the story of the ring finger.
When it was time for Sharon and Glenn to exchange their vows and rings, the garden silenced so that they could commit their hearts to one another. Sharon was stunning, albeit a little nervous giving her vows. Glenn looked lovingly into her eyes as if to say, “I’m here for you, it’s ok,” and throughout the garden hearts melted. They said, “I Do” and with their first kiss as husband and wife their new life together had just begun to bloom.
After the ceremony, each guest posed with Glenn and Sharon for pictures so that they could capture every special moment with their friends and family. The guests roamed the garden patiently waiting for their turn to see the newly married couple. It was especially fun to photograph Glenn with “the boys” (i.e. the other police officers) who clearly had a lot of love and respect for their friend and his new bride. During photos, the sky threatened rain and a few raindrops fell, but someone in the heavens was looking down on their special day and the rain held off. The archways of the rose garden framed the couple perfectly as they were photographed together, sharing their love.
On August 26th, 2017, the love Sharon and Glenn have for each other was seen and felt by everyone who attended their special day. These two are very much meant for each other, and we know that their love will continue to grow. Mary and Jerry were privileged to capture their beautiful wedding and are happy to have been a part of the celebration. May the rest of their lives be filled with God’s blessings as they share their lives with each other and with those around them!
